A fundraising event, this year’s recipient of 100% of the funds raised is Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Their mission is to provide volunteer advocates to speak up for abused children in court and to ensure their placement in a safe, permanent, nurturing home. These caring individuals make the conscious decision to act as the “eyes and ears” for the court and a voice for Santa Barbara County’s foster children. CASA volunteers encourage children to express opinions and hopes about their lives and futures. The volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary things for some of Santa Barbara County’s most vulnerable children.
