The event made CNN several times. Unfortunately it was because gangs of rowdy drunken vandalizing teens forced the Mayor to read the riot act and the police to use their entire suppy of tear gas. Good news: No sand sculptures were injured in the riot. Bad news: the incident may result in the extinction of an excellent event.
